Reflowable eBooks are usually cheaper to produce, and will therefore cost less than the fixed layout eBook conversion.
Producing fixed layout eBooks costs more because there’s a lot more processing involved. Rather than simply converting a PDF, animators and graphic designers work on creating an interactive eBook. This requires more time, increasing the cost of production.
Based on the type of content, with ePub KNOWHOW’s help, you must decide on which layout you require your eBook to be published in. The main differentiating factor is that reflowable content changes its placement according to different screen sizes; while the fixed layout content does not. So, if you the author or publisher has a PDF or a manuscript which mainly consists of text, it is better to go for a reflowable format. If there are many images and designs, a fixed layout ePub will be more appropriate.
